Camp is over…oh sadness. But it was SO good! I truly am so thankful to be a part of such an amazing camp experience with a great team and an incredible opportunity to meet with new people. We put on two concerts and it was possibly some of the most fun ever!! But I am ready for one big ole fat nap.
If you want to see some concert stuff let me know and I can send you a live stream!! Some pretty rocking music.
I always think the days following camp can be so extremely difficult to sit, process, and think of what is next. I mean, we have all experienced that high of a camp the days following and then there is this huge crash of “Oh dang, this sucks. What do I do now?”
I know in high school I was always frustrated when I hit that crash because we all want to stay in that high of camp spirit. That closeness we get. But here is the thing..
God is still God. He is the same God of today, yesterday, tomorrow, Texas, Europe, and so on. His goodness is still reachable no matter the circumstance.
“Okay, cool. I got that. But like. What do I do…”
I think there are two practical steps that we can take as believers, or as those who want to grow.
- Invest in a mentor
This can be something really easy to breeze by. But DO NOT. This is actually extremely important when it comes to wanting to lean in and transform. To have that desire to grow. There are people in your life who may actually have more wisdom than you (I know..go figure right?) and they are most likely more than willing to walk with you in your growth.
Get coffee with that mentor and invest with them. Tell them your story, and do not leave a single detail out. I mean it. Tell them the worst and the best. And everything in between. The more they know the better they can walk alongside you. It can be extremely uncomfortable but there is so much value in being able to walk freely and have someone to dive into some deep stuff with.
- Get involved in a ministry
This can be on any number of levels. Serving, showing up, staying later than normal…etc.
I have always found that there is a sudden change within the self when you have a place to truly get involved with. There is accountability with it. You’ve got a place to truly learn with practical knowledge. There more you get involved the better. Ask leaders, “Hey, how can I serve you best? How can I help make this place better? What can I do for you?” In doing this, you are able to build relationships and give back to what has helped you in amazing ways. It can be quite powerful.
These are two practical steps that I have found has completely transformed my life and I am excited to see how much further it will continue to transform my life.
Fusion Camp is over today, but Fusion is not over. There is still so much fun and amazing things left to do and I am overly excited to step into it.
Life is starting to look different for me now, but it is a good different. Be in prayer that God would guide my steps into His plan. It is gonna be awesome.
