This past week I have been reminded of Paul and something that has probably been the cause of that is my reading of the book of Acts. A word that comes to my mind when I read this book is revival. Revival in the church, revival in our lives, and revival of the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit MOVES in the book of Acts, and the Spirit continues to move to this day! I think sometimes as Americans we can be somewhat ignorant of the spiritual world and only think about God and His Spirit in two dimensional ways. This was something I realized last summer that I struggled with when I was in Slovenia the first time. Since then I have prayed that God would reveal things to me and show His Spirit to me.
And it has happened big time. It’s happening in ways I did not think they would.
Now, I’m not saying I saw Jesus. But I am seeing the Spirit work in my life with images and presence in ways I have not ever seen before. God has been so faithful, but it has taken much boldness to just get small glimpses into the Holy Spirit.
Through the book of Acts I am seeing many places in which I have found power in the words that are written. Such as the following section of prayer:
“And now, Lord look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”Acts 4:29-30, ESV
This speaks to me because of the recognition that all of the things that are life giving are coming from God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I have also found comfort in reciting these prayers and verses in my own prayers, recognizing that there is power in those words.
Seeing more into the spiritual world has been awesome but it has not been without any spiritual attacks. (If you want to hear more about these, please message/email/reach out to me). But that is the thing about being on the winning side. We have already won.
This song came on my shuffle this week, it’s a cheesy MercyMe song of Christian rock and whatever. But it has become an anthem for my week this week.
It’s that simple.
”No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”Romans 8:37-39, ESV
It is a short blog this week, I know. But please take my offer on reaching out to me and I would love to go deeper with you.
Camp starts soon, my next blog will be posted while I am at camp (don’t expect many things about camp, it will most likely be prewritten). Pray for Spiritual boldness, for protection, for life. I feel His Spirit MOVING, and it is AWESOME.
